Circles of Security for Children with Disability - presented by Dr Sonia Prescott, Clinical and Educational Psychologist. 

During this session, Sonia will introduce the Circle of Security, giving us a shared foundation for understanding children’s attachment needs.

We will explore how the Circle of Security can be meaningfully woven into everyday early years environments and

• Brainstorm practical, child‑centred ways to adapt Circle of Security concepts for early childhood programs, routines, and relationships.
• Look beyond surface-level behavior—including what we sometimes call “challenging behavior”—and explore how children communicate their attachment needs through their actions.
• Consider the unique security needs of children with disabilities and reflect on how we can create environments that feel safe, responsive, and inclusive for every child.
