The Liam Burrows Quartet

At just 21, Liam is a truly prodigious and gifted performer in the style of the great jazz singers of all time from whom he draws his inspiration.

With a passion for jazz that is compelling and contagious, his performance style, vocal maturity and technique, demonstrate an incredible affinity with the genre that is way beyond his years.

In 2010, when just 15, he captivated audiences at the famous Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, receiving a standing ovation.

Over the past four years, Liam has performed widely, headlining some of Australia’s most popular jazz festivals including the Broadbeach Jazz Festival, Adelaide Hills Jazz Festival, Norfolk Island Jazz Festival, Noosa Jazz Festival and Manly Jazz Festival as well as headlining at “Jazz with the Stars” alongside James Morrison and other major acts at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast.

Liam’s most recent major performances have also taken him to Hong Kong a long way from his humble beginning as a Central Coast Jazz Futures Scholarship recipient at the tender age of 13.

A finalist on Australia’s Got Talent, where he earned the respect of fellow professionals and stunned audiences with his mature vocal style, he was singing jazz standards in an industry that is dominated by “pop” music, an amazing feat for a 17 year old.

Following this success, Liam entertained nationwide as the opening act for the Pointer Sisters national tour and independently released his debut album All Of Me which has achieved critical acclaim and airplay around the world.

In 2012 Liam was named BEST JAZZ ARTIST at the Australian Music Industry’s MusicOz Awards and came Second in the Vocal Performance Category of the US based Unsigned-Only Music Competition. He received the same award in 2014 and again this year.

In 2013 he was awarded a Mo Award for his work as a live entertainer and he followed this up with the release of his first music video which went on to win 2 major awards at the 2014 Palestrina Film Festival, Italy.

Liam continues to achieve great heights and was recently awarded the highly prestigious 2015 Generations In Jazz Vocal Scholarship presented by James Morrison. Most recently, Liam was named Star Central Magazine's Unsigned Male Artist of the Month (August 2015).

Whilst continuing to further his career with national and international performances, Liam is also working on material for his new quartet album and studying for a degree in contemporary performance, majoring in Jazz piano.

Despite his youth, he is wowing his audiences even more as a truly remarkable and awe-inspiring talent. Without a doubt, his career is one to watch!

At Foundry 616, Liam will be accompanied by some well-known and equally amazing musicians in Dorian Mode (piano), John Conley (bass) and Toby Hall (drums).
