Come and join us for the first ever Houseplant Horticulture X Perth Houseplant Club plant swap!

What is a plant swap, I hear you ask? This is a community event hosted by the founder of the Perth Houseplant Club group, and owner of Houseplant Horticulture and in spirit is a chance for like minded people to come together and build their houseplant collection on a budget, all while socialising and bonding over a mutual love for plants in a friendly, relaxed environment. There will be 2 levels to the swap, the Main swap, and the 'rare plant marketplace'.

How does it work?
- At your arrival to the event upon showing your entry ticket you will be given a random number. You'll also be given a token for each plant you bring to put in the swap.  A maximum of 5 swap tokens is allowed, but you can bring more than 5 plants to put on the table if you like.
- Put your plants on the swap table, and have a look around at what other goodies are on offer.
- The host will start calling out numbers, listen carefully for yours, it's time to go shopping! Swap one token for one plant.
- Once all numbers are called out, what is left on the tables is free for all.

The Rare plant marketplace is an area dedicated to swapping rare plants 1 on 1. Bring along any higher valued plants you wish to trade more exclusively, but when you arrive, don't get a token for these plants and place them for safe keeping at the rare plant marketplace. Once the main swap is done, head back over and barter with fellow rare plant swappers!

When the main swap is complete, a raffle will be drawn with the winner taking home a variegated Monstera! The number you are given at entry, is your number in the raffle draw so keep it safe!

The nitty gritty
Attendees must bring along at least one cutting or plant to contribute to the swap. The maximum swap tokens that will be given is 5, but there is no limit to bringing more than 5 plants along.

This is a "Houseplant" swap, so leave those full sun garden plants at home pretty please. When choosing which plants to bring along, please consider if the plant you are choosing to bring is of similar value to what you'd like to take home! We love all plants and there is no pressure to bring anything extravagant or expensive, but bear in mind that we probably won't have a need for 50 cuttings of Pothos on the day.

All plants bought along to the event must be free from pests, diseases and damage, and if possible labeled in some way.

Happy swapping, we look forward to seeing your all there on the day!
