Tonight, pianist/composer Mike Nock performs in the very special and rare trio format - truly the most exciting way to experience one of our most distinguished jazz artists.

Having recently celebrated his 75th birthday at the club, this will br his last concert at the club for the year.

The MIKE NOCK trio, with bassist Brett Hirst and drummer James Waples, is widely regarded as one of the top modern jazz groups in Australia. The trio's unique sound includes jazz standards plus Mike’s original compositions, reflecting his wide experience in the top echelon of international jazz performance.

2014 winner of Australia’s top music honour The Don Banks Prize, Mike is widely recognised as a vital force on the Australian music scene after returning in 1985 from the USA, where Mike spent 25 years working with jazz greats such as Coleman Hawkins, Dionne Warwick, Tony Williams, Yusef Lateef, etc., and where his group The FOURTH WAY ( 1968-71) first won him wide international recognition and established his leadership credentials.

With several festival appearances throughout Australasia, this is the trio’s first Sydney club performance this year, and will be a great chance to experience their musical magic in an intimate setting.
