From the industrial town of Swindon, England arose a colourful band called XTC. Cutting their teeth on psychedelia, glam and progressive rock, they were attracted by the wiry energy of punk and became one of the most important groups to emerge from the new wave era. Playful, melodic and innovative, XTC laid one of the most persuasive claims to inheriting the magic of the Beatles, riding it roughshod through a catalogue that spanned the years 1977-2000. XTC last performed in concert in 1982.
Scarecrow People bring the challenging and compelling songbook of Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding to life. Their pedigree speaks volumes of their capacity to bring both the arrangements and spirit of XTC to the stage, numbering members of Petulant Frenzy, The Nature Strip, Monsieur Camembert, Magic Lunchbox and Shaggin’ Wagon.
