Scarecrow People, a dedicated assembly of seven enthusiasts based in Sydney, present the amazing catalogue of XTC for your delectation. For this show they narrow their focus to the 1980 album Black Sea, arguably their first mature album. It’s full of cracking tunes and musical wizardry, yet still packs the punch and menace of their early work. The record features the hits “Generals and Majors”, “Respectable Street”, “Towers of London” and the controversial “Sgt Rock (Is Going To Help Me)”, as well as superlative deep cuts such as “No Language in our Lungs” and “Burning With Optimism’s Flames”. Scarecrow People will present the album in full in one set, and a rag-and-bone buffet of other choice cuts in another.

Scarecrow People features members, past and present, of Petulant Frenzy, The Nature Strip, Magic Lunchbox and Monsieur Camembert. The band has wowed punters on their last couple of sold-out shows at Camelot and only play infrequently, so book early!
