Session 1 Starting the Folio 10.30-12.30pm
Focus on the Design Brief, research methods and idea generation. Session will also cover wrapping up Unit 3 work and identify where they should be at this point in the unit. Presented by Kristen Guthrie
Session 2 Combining Typography & Images 12.45pm-2.15pm
This session is all about typography and making the right choices when it comes to combining typography with images. Presented by Dr Barry Spencer.
About the Presenter - Session 1
Kristen Guthrie is both an experienced teacher of Visual Communication Design and Graphic Designer. She has been closely involved in the development, teaching and evaluation of VCE Visual Communication since its introduction to the VCE curriculum. She has worked in curriculum development and assessment with the VCAA and is passionate about design education. Kristen is the author of the popular textbook, Nelson Visual Communication Design: VCE Units 1 – 4 now in its third edition as well as the accompanying student workbook. She is currently Head of Arts at Woodleigh School on the Mornington Peninsula.
About the Presenter - Session 2
Dr Barry Spencer is currently a university lecturer and freelance designer. Throughout his career as a designer he has researched, explored and played with the Latin letterforms. By undertaking this research and exploration it has allowed him to reach a point where it has now fundamentally altered the way that he creates, perceives and understands the shapes of the alphabet.
