'Strength of Unity, Solidarity and Community'

An annual event step in history, 160 years in the making.

When Hunter Workers first came together to fight for shorter working hours some 160 years ago, they had the future of Hunter Workers in mind.

All workers today owe what we have to the forward thinking and courage of the generation’s of union members behind us, that paved the way for 'Our Rights At Work’ and for many of the services that we consider to be part of the Australian way of life, many of which have been under continued attack for many years.

With diversity of back ground and birthplace, workers from all walk’s of life united for the sole purpose of improving the working conditions and the lives of all person in their communities.

Mayday is the one day of the year where Hunter Workers, the community, families, friend’s and supporter's come to gather to celebrate the achievement’s of workers.
