So you've organised a ride and a rider falls requiring medical assistance. You're out of phone range for an ambulance. What do you do?

This is a First Aid course designed to train you for emergencies that may arise on a club ride. It is an intense full course over 6 hours, conducted by Roberto Ceppellini. Our aim is to train as many people as possible so that on every ride there is at least one person who has the knowledge to save a life. This is open to all scooterists, in particular club people who organize rides and events.

The maximum attendance is 30 people.

The cost is $25 pp, This course is organised voluntarily, so it's an incredibly cheap opportunity to learn these basic life saving skills. The fee will go towards the hire of CPR dolls, and lunch will be provided at 12 noon.

The Presenter: Roberto Ceppellini

Better known to us all as 'The Vespa Wizard"

"I have a 30 years experience as an ambulance paramedic of which 18 were with the MICA ambulance. On my retirement I was in charge of the MICA unit based at Western Hospital Footscray. During my time in the ambulance ,and for 5 years after that, I was Cert 4 accredited for training and assessment in the workplace and, in this capacity I taught courses for several RTO companies and at the Royal Children Hospital, teaching child care providers and new parents how to deal with pediatric emergencies."

Since retirement, Roberto has not maintained his official credentials, so this course is not officially accredited. Our aim is to share essential knowledge that could save lives in the scooter community.

Lunch will be provided at the venue at 12 noon. Coffee and tea facilities throughout the day.

Our thanks to Roberto for the idea and his time, and to The Australian Education Union for the use of their conference facilities.
