Steve Hunter has been active as an electric bassist composer, bandleader & sideman/collaborator in Australia (and internationally) for 30 years now. He has performed with such notable Australian artists as Mark Simmonds’ Freeboppers, Tree, Dale Barlow, James Muller, Joseph Tawadros and The Translators, as well as international artists including Billy Cobham, Chick Corea, Bobby Previte, Ulf Wakenius and Mark Isham.

A prolific composer, Steve has released nine albums of original music, in formats ranging from solo bass to 9-piece ensemble. His most recent release is Cosmos. For the Hotel Blue performance, Steve will be in trio mode with two of Australia’s most in demand musicians; Ben Hauptmann on guitar and James Hauptmann on drums.
