2010 Football World Cup Video Referee Petition

Background:

The idea for Sticky Tickets was inspired by the 2006 FIFA World Cup when an event was held at the IMAX Theatre to watch the match between Brazil and Australia. We are just as excited about the World Cup this year, and are very aware of the general disappointment of the some of the referee's decisions and the desire for a video referee moving forward.

As football followers and lovers of the world game, we wish to support this petition for introducing a video referee into all sanctioned FIFA international matches.

Over 30 million people watch the world cup and untold amounts of money is exchanged and spent on infrastructure and getting to the event. Most of the fans are not wealthy individuals, they save all their money to go to the world cup and experience the game at its best. Referees are only human and cannot be expected to make correct decisions 100% of the time. One bad decision and a whole nation could be plunged into despair and total devastation. It is time for change!

We implore you to listen to the fans and to the dedicated masses and introduce a video referee.
