Event Details

The Antarctic community comes together in Hobart on Saturday 10 September 2016 for a gala dinner with special guests. A highlight of the Inaugural Australian Antarctic Festival, the Antarctic Dinner will feature superb food and wine in one of Hobart’s most prestigious function venues. The dinner raises funds to support the continuing work of the Mawson’s Huts Foundation to preserve a unique part of Australia’s Antarctic heritage: the original expedition huts used by Douglas Mawson’s 1911-1914 Australasian Antarctic Expedition at Cape Denison, Commonwealth Bay, East Antarctica.

The dinner will include a special guest speaker Peter Hillary, entertainment, door prizes,dinner raffle and auction.

The dinner is open to individuals, groups and organisations. The cost will be $300 per person ($3000 for tables of 10) .  Individuals are very welcome to be seated at shared tables, with tickets available at $300 per person, for a three course luxury dinner including fine wines, beers and soft drinks. If you wish to sit with friends or colleagues, we will do our best to accommodate you, the best way is to have a table name to quote when you book. We will be serving Patagonian Toothfish, caught under licence in Australian waters and donated by Australian Longline Ltd. Special diets are catered for with advance notice, please state on the booking page.
