Introducing our inspirational speaker the amazing Sue-Ellen Lovett!

From humble beginnings growing up on a farm near Mudgee, two time Paralympian, Sue-Ellen Lovett, had visions of representing her country. She knew what she needed to do, and how she needed to go about doing it. The journey however, turned out to be more incredible than even she imagined. Along the way, Sue-Ellen has been involved in raising millions of dollars for Australian organisations, and has inspired and motivated others by what she has achieved.

Since the highs of the representing Australia at the Sydney Paralympics, Sue-Ellen has turned her focus to able bodied competition, while at the same time coaching and mentoring successful junior riders.

A string of top horses and accomplishments at the highest national levels are testament to Sue-Ellens’ drive, focus and determination to make her dreams a reality.

Sue-Ellens’ ability to energise others has seen her travel the country for speaking engagements and demonstrations.

Some of Sue-Ellen’s many remarkable achievements include;

Nine long distance horse rides covering 16 000 km and raising over $3million for organisations such as Guide Dogs NSW, the Sydney Paralympic Organising Committee, Riding for the Disabled, the Childrens’ Cancer Unit and the Lions’ Save Sight Project (Australia).

• 1996 Representing Australia at the Atlanta Paralympics
• 1999 Represented Australia in Danmark World Dressage championships for riders with a disability. Ranked 3rd and 4th in the world and a member of the Australian Bronze medal team
• 1995-2000 National RDA Grade 4 Champion
• 2000 Represented Australia at the Sydney Paralympics, placing 5th Freestyle to Music and 6th in the Championship event
• 2009-12 Qualified Sydney CDI at FEI Level. Australias’ highest level competition
• 2013 Qualified Sydney CDI at Advanced Level.
• Level 1 Specialist Dressage Coach, coaching two Junior riders to National Level and one adult to FEI Level.
• Sue-Ellen has been recognised publicly for many of her community involvements. The list is long, however the more memorable moments include;
• 1991 Nominated as “Australian of the Year” for her outstanding achievements in fundraising and community work
• 1996-2000 Director, Sydney Paralympic Organising Committee
• 2000 Awarded Life membership of Equestrian Australia
• 2000 Ministerial Sports Awarrd for outstanding achievement in Paralympic Equestrian Sports
• 2000 Australian Sports Medal awarded by the Queen
