Plan your supported and nourishing postpartum.
Having a baby is a HUGE transition that often challenges every fibre of your being. The norm in our culture is often to be underprepared for this time of adjustment and find ourselves feeling alone and overwhelmed as we adjust to having a new little person in our family. This evening attended from the comfort of your couch will provide an overview of some of the realities of postpartum, and offer the chance to plan how you can best support yourselves to feel supported and nourished as you make this transition.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
Any pregnant person! Bring along your partner or support person so you can connect and reflect together. (If you don't have anyone to bring, feel free to come by yourself, but see if you can find the courage to reach out to just one trusted person you know and see whether they will come along with you). You can be however early or late in your pregnancy you like, although it may feel more relevant as you near baby's arrival, somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd trimester.
CONTENT:
The evening will contain:
- An overview of what you may expect postpartum
- Creating a plan with specifics to put in place so you feel well supported, including who may be in your 'village' (it may be broader than you think), some suggestions for what you may like support with, and ways to ask for that support.
- A discussion on boundaries with tips for how to share them with people eg asking people not to visit if you'd like some space in those early days, or telling a well-meaning relative or health practitioner what is working well for you and your family.
- Connection with your partner/support person (including a chance to reflect on what some challenges may be in your relationship and with being a parent, and how you might navigate them better).
- Anything else that organically unfolds as important or needed from the group.
Sign off feeling more empowered to have a gentle, nourishing postpartum, having spent quality time connecting with your support person making a plan for your supported postpartum. You will take away a tailored plan (or the framework to create one) that you can implement in order to give yourselves the best chance of feeling supported and nourished as you make this transition into a new phase of parenthood.
Refunds up to 14 days before the event, Full refund available 14 days prior to the event if required.
