Winter Starlings: Single Launch: 'My Own Fairytale

Winter Starlings follow up last year's single 'Arise' with the rich & countrified folk rock sound of 'My Own Fairytale'.

In 2022, Winter Starlings released their warmly received second single, the jangly & propulsive 'Arise', which premiered on Backseat Mafia & Radio City on PBS FM.  Now they return with the first of two freshly recorded songs – 'My Own Fairytale', which finds the band building on their core folk rock sound, adding an electric guitar twang & a country rock rhythm.  

Singer, guitarist & songwriter Robin Fitzgerald formed Winter Starlings in 2019, with seasoned fellow musicians guitarist Jack Dunn, bassist Peter Marley & drummer Tony Bibby, to bring his original & heartfelt storytelling to life, leveraging the band’s combined acoustic & electric sound with their trademark vocal harmonies to create a pastoral Americana power pop feel. .

The resulting blend brings to mind the greats such as Neil Young, the jangle pop of Teenage Fanclub, the melodic alt-country influence of Wilco & Jason Isbell, the rich lineage of British folk music & the genre cross pollination of Australia’s Paul Kelly.
