**SPEAKER:** Mark "Bomber" Thompson

Mark “Bomber” Thompson is a legendary figure of Australian Rules football, best known for his deep ties to the Essendon Football Club. A premiership captain with Essendon in 1993 and a fierce, no-nonsense defender across more than 200 games, Thompson built a reputation for toughness and leadership on the field. He later transitioned into coaching, achieving remarkable success as senior coach of the Geelong Football Club, where he led the Cats to two AFL premierships. Thompson returned to Essendon as a coach, including a stint as senior coach in 2014, further cementing his legacy as one of the game’s most respected and influential football minds.

**SPEAKER:** Jason Akermanis - Three-time premiership player and Brownlow Medallist

Jason Akermanis is a former AFL player widely regarded as one of the most talented and flamboyant footballers of the 2000s. He made his name with the Brisbane Lions, where he was a key part of their dominant era, winning three premierships (2001–2003) and the Brownlow Medal in 2001. Known for his speed, skill on both feet, and ability to kick spectacular goals, he was a genuine match-winner.  He’s also well known for his big personality and outspoken nature, which made him both a fan favourite and a controversial figure at times.
