Join us on the 7th March 2020 for a Sparkling Lunch to celebrate International Women's Day 2021.

International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.

Hunter Valley Boutique Collective Inc. aim each year to provide a function where women can gather to celebrate International Women’s Day whilst listening to guest speakers that inspire and educate.

With this years collaboration it is shaping up to be an amazing lunch you don’t want to miss, so grab your friends and book in before the tickets run out!

For International Women's Day 2021 we are hosting a sparkling lunch in the Hunter Valley at Wine House Hunter Valley. Our delicious lunch of canapes, main and dessert is catered by Andy and Janet Wright from Pokolbin Catering Co accompanied by unlimited sparkling or still wines from Wine House. The opportunity will also be available for a wine tasting of Wine House wines if you wish.

Our guest speaker for 2021 is Kate Lyall. Kate Lyall is the Chief Technology Officer of Bee Innovative Pty Ltd, founder and co developer of BeeDar technology. Kate has a degree in Nuclear Medicine from the University of Newcastle. She has been working clinically in Nuclear Medicine for 15 years. Drawing from her experience in solving critical problems in a health setting, Kate has now pivoted her skills to help solve the global issue of poor pollination. Bee Innovative is based in the Hunter Valley and is developing a radar like sensor for honey bees; identifying, tracking and reporting bee pollination activity in near real time. BeeDar revolutionises pollination practices that have not changed in nearly 200 years. Given that 75% of the worlds food crops involve pollination, this technology is critical for economic and social outcomes worldwide.

Kate has engaged with key customers in Australia and the USA to ensure the development of BeeDar sensor technology solves a major commercial problem. This has led to the market assessment of a number of crops which are critically dependent on honey bee pollination, such as Blueberries, Raspberries, Avocados, Mangos, Sunflowers and Almonds. Bee Innovative has seen amazing results with significant increases in crop yield and quality, helping to improve the financial sustainability of farmers and regional communities.

For International Women's Day 2021 the topic is 'Choose to Change’ which Kate will speak on.

Our nominated charity for this event is Branxton Girl Guides. Since 1965 their aim has been to empower girls and young women to grow into confident, self respecting and responsible community members. Any funds raised for this event will be donated to this community group.
