DOCUMENTARY | 84 MINS | 2023 | UNITED STATES | DIR: JASON WISE | M | ENGLISH, ARMENIAN, PERSIAN WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES

Cup of Salvation is a sweeping documentary film that dives into wine's complex history, exploring the crossroads of wine, religion, politics, war, and family. From the award-winning creators of the acclaimed SOMM documentary film series, this film interweaves wine's ancient evolution with the incredible, current-day true story of a father and daughter as they set out to revive the ancient grapes of their homeland in Armenia.

To do so, they must breathe life into the post-Soviet infrastructure of their country, harvest grapes amid war, and market their wine globally. From the birthplace of wine in the rugged, war-torn Caucasus Mountains, to an inside-look at Vatican archives, to the forbidden vineyards hidden deep within the Iranian countryside, Cup of Salvation unearths the origins of enduring passion for wine and how it continues to shape the very fabric of human existance.

A Q&A with filmmaker & winemaker Vahe Keushgerian will follow the screening.
