GWYN ASHTON (UK/ SA) 'ROOTS, BLUES & BEYOND'

Former Stevie Wright (Easybeats), Swanee & Band of Friends (Rory Gallagher’s band) guitarist GWYN ASHTON is doing a series of solo shows across Australia following his 2025 album,'Grease Bucket', feat. Icehouse drummer PAUL WHEELERr & bassist CHRIS LAMBDEN. 

Ashton’s versatile live show is divided into two main sections - an acoustic set creating a sophisticated atmosphere with world rhythms & blues, gentle foot percussion & road stories from a road well travelled.  Then he rocks the blues, on a rollercoaster of funky, electric slide guitar, boogie & blues, this time with a full foot-operated drum kit.

He is a regualr fixture on folk, blues, rock & jazz festivals, venues, bars & radio stations all over the world.  In 2023 Ashton co-headlined the Adelaide Guitar Festival &  released a single with Guns N Roses guitarist RICHARD FORTUS, & members of Cold Chisel & Superjesus. 

In 2024, Ashton completed a 40-date 2024 Aust tour, then toured the UK, Central Europe & Croatia through festivals & venues before performing mainstage at Great British R&B Festival in August.

In 2023 Ashton played across Europe, Australia & the UK, .He toured The Netherlands with UK prog rock pioneers Wishbone Ash & headlined the Adelaide Guitar Festival with Chris Finnen.
