Melbourne based folk singer Leah Senior’s music falls into a dim wallpapered room of slightly out of tune parlour guitars and the ghosts of Summer and 1960s Britain.

Leah Senior’s second album to be released in October pays homage to her dark folk roots while hinting at layers of psychedelic and pop undertones. The blinds are drawn and the songs are covered in a fine layer of dust yet there is sunlight peaking through the gaps, a silver lining to a dusky tone and a sense of humour behind the tragedy.

This follows the success of Leah’s debut album “Summer’s On The Ground” recorded in a rickety abandoned hall reveals a haunting and intimate storyteller, Rolling Stone saying “this is insular music, akin to eavesdropping on someone else’s prettily conveyed thoughts”.

Her crisply picked songs reveal a love of old world folk providing a stark canvas for her unusual lyrical wit pulling the songs into the present.

Leah Senior’s unique style has attracted not only those in the folk world but the likes of many others including the infamous psychedelic King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, Dorsal Fins, Jess Ribeiro and Fraser A Gorman as well as international artists Calexico, Glen Hansard and Jessica Pratt.

Leah was also part of the Americana festival “Out on The Weekend in 2015 March last year.

“Meandering weirdo”- audience member at Meeniyan Town Hall 2016.
