"Staring at the Starry Ceiling" in the intimate Marrickville venue The Newsagency on Saturday 13th August, 8pm.

Since their debut release EP "Home" in 2014, these sisters (now aged 16 and 13) have opened for Kasey Chambers and Clare Bowditch and performed folk and roots festival stages nationally.

Citing influences as diverse as Danish songstress Agnes Obel, First Aid Kit and Sufjan Stevens, sisters Mabel and Ivy emerge from an eclectic musical childhood playing classical and Celtic folk and busking bluegrass a capella from ages 11 and 8.

Their song "Paper and Ink" took out the highly coveted 2015 Darebin Music Feast Songwriters' Award.

The debut album, produced by Melbourne luminary Nick Huggins (Two Bright Lakes) and Mabel (older sister of Charm of Finches), features the young duo's signature angelic sibling harmonies, with a distinct chamber-folk flavour coming from the instrumentation: gently picked guitar, ukulele, cello, violin, glockenspiel, lyre, banjo and piano, all played by the sisters.

An all ages show, the evening promises inspired songwriting for lovers of soulful , intelligent folk.
