This is RiverSmart's fourth Macquarie River Fishing Classic, Carp muster and River cleanup, with Macquarie Toyota in Warren our major sponsor for this year. As in previous years the event is a catch and release event for all native species, with Murray Cod and Yellowbelly (Golden perch) the primary target species. The event is also a carp muster with prizes for the person catching the largest and the most carp. All who enter the competition can take a Clean up Australia bag to collect other peoples' litter!
Anyone who enters - even if you don't go fishing - goes in the draw to possibly win a $6,000 (approx) tinnie, trailer and outboard package donated by Dubbo Marine and Watersports.
Fishing starts from first light on Saturday 10th and finishes at 2.00 pm on Sunday 11th December. Photos showing your longest fish (or most carp) need to be in the hands of the organiser at your local venue (see www.riversmart.org,au) for details by 3 pm on the Sunday. Unique ID tags (which must appear in the photos of your fish) will be provided to all who register, at your chosen local venue from 6.30pm on Friday 9th December.
RiverSmart is a not-for-profit organisation and this is our major annual fundraiser for work along the Macquarie River.
