RECOGNISING THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF PERI-IMPLANT DISEASE:
Evening seminar presented by Melosh NaickerKeep it Smart and Simple, Step by Step review for your implant patients to maximise your success stories!
During this presentation Melosh will discuss:
-Risk factors for peri-implantitis
-Signs and symptoms of peri implant disease
-Treatment protocols
-Use of medicaments and adjunct therapy
-Pt instructions for maintenance
There will be an opportunity for questions and answers with Melosh at the end of the presentation
Presenter Bio
Melosh is a registered dental hygienist practicing at a specialist periodontal practice in Malvern East, Victoria. She completed her Bachelors Degree in Oral Health at the University of Durban Westville, South Africa in 1991. After graduating, Melosh spent a short time in general private practice in Durban, South Africa and shortly thereafter was offered a position at the School of Dentistry, University of Durban Westville. She lectured in many of the units and was also course co-ordinator of several of the units . She was also elected programme co-ordinator of the Oral Health and Dental Therapy Programme at the University of Durban Westville. Melosh obtained a postgraduate Diploma in Oral Hygiene in 1997 and then went on to obtain a Marketing Diploma from the Durban Institute of Technology in 2002. Back in South Africa, she was elected the President of the South African Oral Hygiene Association from 1995 β 1997. She served on the Health Professions Council of South Africa and was elected the vice-chairperson of the Professional Board of Oral Hygiene and Dental Therapy as well as the Vice Chairperson of the Education Committee of the Board from 1999 β 2003.
Melosh with her husband and two kids, immigrated to Australia in March 2007. She currently resides in Melbourne, Victoria and is employed at The Perio Centre in East Malvern. Her areas of interest are management of peri-implant disease and non-surgical periodontal therapy. Melosh is also a demonstrator and teacher for the Bachelor of Oral Health Programme at the University of Melbourne. She graduated with her Masters of Public Health Degree from the University of Queensland in 2012. Melosh has more than 25 years of experience in both academia and clinical practice and has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally. Melosh is currently studying towards her PhD at the University of Melbourne. The title of her research is βTo evaluate the effectiveness of using an endoscope with scaling and root planing as compared to scaling and root planing only using clinical, microbiological and radiographic parameters.β
