Greens NSW MP Dr Mehreen Faruqi and Senator Lee Rhiannon are pleased to host the Third Annual International Women's Day Breakfast at NSW Parliament House. This series has become renowned for an honest and radical discussion about gender and race with thought provoking speakers.
This year join special guests Nayuka Gorrie and Hawraa Kash
Nayuka is a Gunai/Kurnai, Gunditjmara, Wiradjuri and Yorta Yorta woman living on Wurundjeri country. She works for Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network as a Project Manager and is a freelance writer. Her writing focuses on self-determination, colonialism and feminism).
Hawraa is a spoken word artist who uses the medium as a tool to explore areas of her identity, such as heritage and faith. She also works to utilize the unconditional connection with strangers that spoken word poetry generates to create a safe space for conversations such as mental health, bullying, and social constructs.
This event has sold out each year so we strongly encourage you to book early.
Please note: This is an autonomous event for all people who identify as women. Please respect this and only book if you meet this criteria.
