A new way to look at Learning Difficulties.Hunter Community Learning Association and Ashtonfield Public School are proud to present Barbara Arrowsmith- Young in her only Newcastle event. The author of the book “The Woman Who Changed Her Brain” and director of the Arrowsmith program, will be talking about the program that helped her overcome her own learning disabilities. The Arrowsmith Program which originated in Toronto in 1978, is based on the philosophy that it is possible to address specific learning difficulties by identifying and strengthening weak cognitive capacities. The genesis of the Arrowsmith Program of cognitive exercises lies in Barbara Arrowsmith Young’s journey of discovery and innovation to overcome her own severe learning disabilities. Each student's program is based on a careful assessment to identify that individual’s specific learning difficulties. The program is suitable for adults and children.
The first Arrowsmith class in the Newcastle area commenced in February 2016 and currently has vacancies for 7 students for 2017.
