STANDING CIRCLE is a Melbourne/ Naarm-based contemporary ensemble led by guitarist, composer & instrument innovator LARRY CRESTANI, best known for his work with Black Jesus Experience. Blending original compositions with improvisation, the group draws on global musical traditions, jazz, funk & contemporary sounds to create immersive & deeply rhythmic performances.

Part of the band's sound revolves around Lorenzo's distinctive musical voice & the custom-built Kraartar - a unique hybrid of the Ethiopian kraar & guitar.

STANDING CIRCLE regularly collaborates with musicians worldwide.  For Sydney/ Warrane performance at Butchers Brew Bar, the ensemble features acclaimed local artists, including drummer Abby Constable & Harry Tompsett on saxophone, plus special guests.

Directed by Larry Crestani, STANDING CIRCLE celebrates collaboration, spontaneity & the rich diversity of Australia's contemporary creative music scene.
