Simba Mushete & Echoes of African Music play the oldest and sweetest melodious tunes all the way from Zimbabwe. Playing unique beautiful music using Zim traditional instruments like the Mbira and Marimba this is a night not to be missed. The Echoes' music is irresistibly danceable and will get you moving on the dance floor all night long.

Chenjerai was born in Manica province of central Mozambique, during a time when the country was troubled by civil war, which forced his parents to move to neighbouring Zimbabwe. His relationship with music began very early, under the influence of his father and older brother who played mbira. At the age of seven, he joined his first band. He grew up listening to Thomas Mapfumo, Oliver Mtukudzi, Lira and ZamaJobe, who have, either directly or indirectly, inspired his own compositions.

Zambezi Sounds is a 5 piece Canberra based band playing a vibrant mix of contemporary and traditional African music. The band is fronted by Zimbabwean musicians Ben Mutandadzi (bass guitar and vocals) and Felix Machiridza (mbira, African drums, and vocals).
