The Womens' Network have pre-purchased 16 only tickets to "Piano Lessons" at early bird rates, with dinner commencing at 6:00pm at the Civic Digest for a 7:30pm show at the Theatre, this is set to be a highly enjoyable and reflective evening in fine company, of course.
Piano Lessons is a very personal memoir of a musical education. Playing herself, Anna Goldsworthy stars in this engaging piece of music theatre , which elegantly illustrates the intriguing relationship between the young pianist and her Russian teacher.
Part theatrical production and part concert, Piano Lessons provides insight into the lives and inspirations of the great masters to expose the process of learning, interpreting and creating music.
Anna Goldsworthy’s stage adaptation of her award-winning book, which recounts her musical awakening as a young girl, immediately struck a deep chord with critics, readers and music lovers.
One critic professed:
"I have never read a better depiction of a great mentor and of how true learning takes place. Every teacher of anything should read this book. Twice."
- Philip Levine, US Poet Laureate
High recommendation, indeed.
