These dreamy summer nights only last for so long before we are plunged yet again into the darkness. Tasmanian songwriter Tom Dockray isn't stupid though; he's moving north to barmy Scandinavia when the weather gets glum.

Before he cryo-vacs and deep-freezes himself in preparation for the long-haul, he's playing one final farewell show at Longplay cinema in Fitzroy to say thanks to all the wonderful Melbournians who've helped along the way.

Here are some things famous people have been tweeting about Tom lately:

"What a fucking legend"
- @kimkardashian

"Could be my favourite musical discovery of 2016"
- @davidhasselhoff

"I mean really folks, we're gonna get him. It's gonna be great. China."
- @realdonaldtrump

Joining Tom on the night will be the jewell in Ballarat's musical crown, the mesmerising Freya Josephine Hollick, the old world country songbird who harks from the Victorian goldfields. She sings of lowdown and dirties, of high times and golden mansions and the bursting and the burning of the heart. A voice that floats somewhere between Maybelle Carter, Patsy Cline and Skip James, and accompanied by the wailing and desperate fiddle of Kat Mear, she is a lady not to be missed. Old-timey country, blues and honky goodness.

It will be a night of great stories and you should definitely come.
