Invalid is a satiric dark comedy set in the wild ‘90s post-Communist Slovakia, reflecting the era of “mečiarism” and organized crime. The story follows Laco Hunder, a museum caretaker whose plans are disrupted by his often uncontrollable yet comical aggression. After a brutal attack by mafia thugs leaves him disabled, Laco, with the help of his new friend Gabo, a kind-hearted Romani man, seeks revenge against the mob.

The film tackles contemporary themes such as racism, depression, family violence, and systemic dysfunction through the straightforward story of a handyman seeking justice.
