Learn Comedy Writing from F*R*I*E*N*D*S - a Workshop with Patrick Lenton
subbed in presents their first workshop of 2017 at Frontyard Projects.
’Learn Comedy Writing from F*R*I*E*N*D*S' is a workshop presented by Patrick Lenton. The workshop will teach the mechanics of comedy writing using examples from the hit tv show, FRIENDS. Useful for prose, script and sketch writing.
Date: Saturday 11th March, 1-3pm.
Location: Frontyard Projects, 228 Illawarra Rd, Marrickville, NSW 2204.
It is free to participate but numbers are limited (20 person capacity). Bookings essential.
Please bring a paper/pen or a laptop.
Patrick Lenton is a writer and author living in Sydney, Australia. He has a book of short stories called A Man Made Entirely of Bats, which the critics have called ‘odd’, and was shortlisted for the Most Underrated Book Award 2016. He is the recipient of the Thiel Grant for Online Writing, and has been shortlisted for the Viva la Novella prize, The Novella Project, Scribe Nonfiction Prize, Qantas SOYA prize, and yet more shortlists. He won the Canadian Club Best Comedy Award at the Sydney Fringe. He writes The Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge. He tells stories on Twitter like ‘Skyrim Dog’ and ‘The Time I Faked My Own Death’. He was a member of a poetry boyband called The Bracket Creeps.
His fiction and memoir has appeared in The Best Australian Stories, The Best Australian Comedy Writing, The Lifted Brow, Going Down Swinging, The Canary Press, Scum Mag, Voiceworks and more.
He is a regular contributor to Junkee, Daily Life, The Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald, The Vocal, VICE i-d and more.
Patrick also runs Town Crier, a digital marketing consultancy for authors.
