The Southern Cross Soloist's (SXS) acclaimed and APRA AMCOS multi-award nominated Chamber Music Festival, held in Bangalow, NSW for 20 years has a new Queensland home. Enjoy music on the mountain and a wintery weekend escape in a place of outstanding natural beauty - The Shambala Estate, Tamborine Mountain, Scenic Rim, Queensland. Just a short excursion from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, this renowned Festival can be reached via car, bus, and/or shuttle from train stations or airports.

An intimate Festival Welcome Event will be held on Friday evening 21st August with the Festival concerts commencing Saturday 22nd August (a morning, early afternoon and evening concert) and completing on Sunday 23 August (morning, and early afternoon concert). Concert duration times will be no longer than 60 minutes without interval. Shambala Estate's award-winning Chef has culinary delights available for purchase now. A licensed operating bar and coffee/tea cart is also available.

EARLY BIRD Festival Subscription Passes (for Saturday and Sunday concerts only) are now available for purchase, along with meal purchases. The Festival will release information on Headline Artists in coming weeks and the full program will be officially launched in early April. Triple Grammy winning soloist, Festival Director Tim Munro, will curate a program that is sure to delight. In 2024, the SXS Mountain Showcase was held at the Shambala Estate receiving a 5-Star Limelight Review from Dr Gemma Regan, "It was an ideal venue for classical chamber music, and the manicured grounds, complete with follies, where perfect for a lunchtime picnic under the trees between concerts."

Shambala Estate presents an enchanting venue, hidden amidst the lush rainforest of the Gold Coast hinterland. Shambala Estate offers picturesque vistas and serene surroundings, with perfect acoustics for an intimate boutique chamber music performance.

Shambhala is a Sanskrit word that means "place of peace" or "place of tranquility". It refers to a mythical paradise or kingdom that is said to exist in the Eastern tradition.

The Festival is presented on Wangerriburra land. SXS pays respect to the Elders of this land, past, present and future.

Program subject to change. General seating only. No reserved seating. Limited parking on site, however the Festival has parking grounds close to Shambala Estate. Wheel Chair assistance is available. Please contact the Organiser to discuss your needs.
