An Evening with Chekov

Hummingbird Theatre Company invites audiences to join us for a special one-night-only fundraiser featuring two of Anton Chekhov's beloved comic one-act plays: The Proposal and The Bear.

Presented as a semi-staged reading, this intimate performance places the focus firmly on the actors, the language, and the enduring wit of one of theatre's great playwrights. Through sharp dialogue, escalating misunderstandings, and delightfully stubborn characters, Chekhov's timeless comedies remain as entertaining today as when they were first written.

The evening will feature:

• The Proposal
• The Bear
• A short interval with complimentary tea, coffee, and light refreshments
• A relaxed post-show Q&A with the cast.
