Join us this October for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Month, in our special Walk to Remember: a gentle remembrance ceremony honouring our loved ones, followed by a short walk through the park. All are welcome- the path is suitable for wheelchairs, prams and bikes.
We gather to remember our precious babies and children, by taking the “steps” they never got to take.
Everyone is invited - all bereaved families in our community, and their loved ones - so register now, to find connection with other bereaved parents, families, and friends.
After the walk, stay and enjoy tea, coffee and light refreshments. There will be crafts and activities for the children.
On 4 October 2025, our Karratha community will gather at Pegs Creek Pavillion, Cattral Park. Join us this October as we Walk together, remembering our little ones with love.
We'll meet from 8:30am for a 9am start.
The Walk to Remember is a relaxed, family-friendly event that includes:
- Remembrance service with readings and reflections from local bereaved families
- Opportunity for everyone to publicly say their little ones’ names if you would like
- Pinwheel Ceremony to share a time of reflection and remembrance
- The symbolic Walk to Remember
- Time for connection with other bereaved families
- Light refreshments with tea and coffee provided
Red Nose acknowledges the generous contributions from City of Karratha, Two Unique Photography, The Kookie Knut and Judes Grazing.
**Frequently asked questions and more details**
**Did you know?**
Our annual Walks to Remember began as a way for families who have experienced the loss of a baby or child to meet together in remembrance, love, and connection.
**Are pinwheels included?**
All tickets include a pinwheel, with the exception of the child ticket. Pinwheels are suitable for ages 3+. Children under 3 can be registered for free, and will not receive a pinwheel.
**What to expect:**
Our Red Nose annual Walks to Remember are about making connections while honouring the love and loss that we all share.
You may find that connecting with people is often easier with other people who really “get it”, or you might feel nervous about talking with others who have lost a precious child.
You can expect to see larger family groups, living siblings, and other loving children joining in at the Walk. You’ll see some joyful elements like bubbles and cakes —these are all part of celebrating our connection to our children.
And this event is also a time to reflect, embracing both our deepest sorrow and the joy our children brought into our lives. So in the remembrance service and the Walk itself, you can expect that we’ll focus on our enduring love for our babies or children who died, and the milestones we’ll never see with them.
**How much are tickets?**
This event is ticketed to help us reach more of our community, but tickets are free.
We invite you to join our free national membership program, Heart Strings. For more information about Heart Strings, and to sign up, please visit our website here.
**Where can I buy the Walk to Remember shirt?**
We’re partnering with A Cut Above Byron for personalised event t-shirts again this year. They generously donate a portion of the sale of each Walk to Remember shirt to Red Nose, which helps us to support grieving families across the country.
Please place your order at least 3 weeks before your Walk, to make sure it arrives in time. Try to add an extra week if you live in WA or remote areas, because these shirts are posted from Byron Bay (Cavenbah) on the east coast of Australia. Tanja from A Cut Above Byron says thank you!
While this event is family-friendly, the safety and supervision of children in your care remain your responsibility.
