About the event:

Welcome to Interwoven, a femme-centred rope play evening held within the beautiful sanctuary of The Salon. Interwoven is an open rope jam and social gathering where guests are invited to tie, connect, lounge, observe, practise, play, chat, and settle into the atmosphere at their own pace.

Interwoven is a play space rather than an educational class. If you are new to rope, we encourage you to attend with curiosity, patience, and a willingness to observe, connect, and learn through community.

The atmosphere & what to expect:

Expect velvet couches, soft lighting, suspension points, greenery, cosy corners, music, tea bar sourced from local businesses, desserts & grazing treats in an intimate, thoughtfully curated environment. While the event is rope focused, no prior rope experience is required. 

The space will include dedicated tying areas, suspension points, and comfortable areas to sit, chat, observe, and connect with others. You are welcome to bring your own rope, practise existing skills, explore with a partner, tie for yourself, or simply spend time in the space observing and meeting other rope folk.

Facilitators will be present throughout the evening to help maintain the space, answer questions where they can, and support safety. However, Interwoven is not a teaching-focused event, and there is no guarantee of one-on-one instruction or dedicated learning time. Some attendees may be happy to share knowledge, demonstrate a technique, or help you explore something new, but please always ask first and respect any no you receive.

Interwoven is a non-sexual 18+, drug and alcohol free event.

As this is an 18+ event, upon arrival a host may require you to show your government photo ID if requested. We will not sore, photograph or record this ID in any way. It is purely to guarantee an 18+ environment.

Who is this event for?

Interwoven is a community gathering curated through a queer, disabled, and femme lens. The evening is specifically curated for women and gender‑diverse folk who resonate with femme energy.

The venue is typically a women-centred space. We would like to respect this by asking that cisgender heterosexual men are welcome only when attending accompanied by a femme attendee, and we ask that these guests participate as the person being tied, rather than the one tying.

What to wear:

• Dress in whatever makes you feel most sensual, expressive, and at home in yourself. Some ideas may include; lace, velvet, lingerie, bodysuits, leather, latex, florals, silk, glamour, drama, or quiet comfort.
• The venue has a dressing room to change into your outfit once you arrive if needed.
• Clothing expectations: guests are free to include nudity as part of their own rope scenes while either tying or being tied only.

Photography policy:

To ensure we are respecting the privacy of all guests we ask that no photos of yours or other peoples' scenes in the space be taken on mobile phones or digital cameras. Instead we have a polaroid camera and if you ask the hosts (Fern & Oraenges) prior to starting your scene we can capture some polaroid photos for you with no one in the background. 

The venue:

Interwoven is held at The Salon in Fyshwick. The Salon is Canberra's only Women's Only sex shop and ladies lounge. Check out their website here: here

The venue is located at 5/41 Whyalla Street Fyshwick 2609 Australia. 

There is street parking available. Once you park on the street, make your way down with the building on your left hand side. You will find a carved wooden door with "The Salon" sign above.

The venue's amenities include:

• Change room
• The venue is on the ground-floor and is wheelchair and mobility aid accessible. Please note that the bathroom is NOT wheelchair/mobility aid accessible and is a small single-stall room that cannot accommodate a second support person.
• Air conditioning
• Sensory friendly dimmable lighting
• A range of seating options from foldable chairs to lush velvet lounges.

Other considerations:

Food and beverages: while we aim to provide options that cater to a range of dietary needs, please let us know at least one week prior to the event if you have any specific dietary requirements or concerns, so we can do our best to accommodate them where possible. If you have any suggestions we'd love to hear them.

Refund Policy

Tickets for this event are non-refundable. Venue hire and catering are confirmed and paid for in advance based on attendee numbers, so I'm unable to offer refunds if you're no longer able to attend.

If your plans change and you can no longer make it, please send Fern a message or email as soon as possible, so that I can update my attendee numbers and know not to expect you on the day. I’m happy to help advertise to resell your ticket where possible, but I can’t guarantee that a replacement attendee will be found.
