John O’Neil
Pro-Com Consulting
Pro-Com founder John O’Neil presents from a military and policing background. Of his 26 years with State and Federal police John spent most of his time in the field of Police Hostage Negotiation, close personal protection, and critical incident management, helping to set up the Critical Incident Response Team for Victoria Police.
This work led John to train with specialist law enforcement all around the world including the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces, FBI negotiators, Homeland Security, Scotland Yard and Mi5. Moving on from a counter terrorism role with the Australian Federal Police, John now brings this knowledge and experience to training government and corporate clients via Pro-Com Consulting.
Specialising in the management of Occupational Violence and Aggression, John has developed a communication system and set of principles to help front line staff deal with this ever-present and highly concerning issue. His system has resulted in significant reductions in injury across many sectors including halving the assault rate on paramedics for Ambulance Victoria, a tremendously rewarding result and which won the Prime Ministers award for people and culture.
John and Pro-Com are proud to continue this work with a wide variety of clients including the Commonwealth Government, State government compliance teams, Councils, Department of Justice and Community Safety, Front line health staff nationally, councils, retail, large security organisations and transport staff working on trams, trains, buses, ships and airlines
Dr Tony Zalewski has been involved in public safety for over 40 years including 17 years as an operational Victoria Police officer. He has four degrees from Australian universities including law, criminology and the social sciences. Tony works with Governments, regulators and various organisations across most industry sectors in Australia and overseas. As a judicially recognised expert in security, safety and risk he has provided expert reports/evidence in over 500 cases including some of Australia’s larger personal injury cases.
