Soirée 2017

International House is celebrating another year of Soirée... 

Soirée began in 1968 when International House (IH) decided to showcase its cultural life – food, song, dance and decorations to the wider Brisbane community. "Housies" (residents) spend weeks preparing the College to welcome visitors to ''their home' for the day, so they can experience the unique customs of resident's different birthplaces.

Join Housies on Saturday 9th September to enjoy...

Exotic market food & drink stalls, the Soirée stage show, cuddle a wombat and other Aussie wildlife, take a step back in time and tour the IH Art History Exhibit, sumo wrestle or get a henna tattoo, and sing oompah in our Bavarian Beer Hall.

Musical and cultural acts run throughout the day, and the main stage features the showstopper performance at 2.40pm. Watch our 2017 Housies perform The CanCan, a Soirée tradition!
