BLAK DOUGLAS - In Conversation with LIZZY MARSHALL

Blak Douglas wins the Archibald Prize for his portrait of artist Karla Dickens – the first time a portrait of an Aboriginal woman has been awarded the prize. He is the second Aboriginal artist to win the Archibald, following Vincent Namatjira’s landmark win in 2020.

Australia’s most engaging art event The Archibald Prize for portrait painting is the country’s favourite and most significant art award. Since 1921, it has highlighted figures from all walks of life, from famous faces to local heroes, reflecting back to us the stories of our times.

The day will include personal accounts of BLAKS life, talking about his art, his politics and his passions followed by a Q and A.
