The Steve Hunter Trio is a band that encourages unique input from its individual musicians. Instead of taking on one typical jazz style, the composition style sees a focus on the strength of the ‘voices’ of the players. Steve has been active as an electric bassist composer, bandleader & sideman/collaborator in Australia (and internationally) for 30 years now. He has performed with such notable Australian artists as Mark Simmonds’ Freeboppers, Tree, Dale Barlow, James Muller, Joseph Tawadros and The Translators, as well as international artists including Billy Cobham, Chick Corea, Bobby Previte, Ulf Wakenius and Mark Isham.

A prolific composer, Steve has released nine albums of original music, in formats ranging from solo bass to 9-piece ensemble.

The Steve Hunter Trio open the 'Live @ The Boiler House' series, proudly presented by 'Music in the Mountains' and 'The Hydro Majestic Hotel'. This will be an intimate night of world class music, with stunning views of the Megalong Valley as a backdrop. The casual atmosphere and intimate venue provide you the opportunity to get up and close with these fine musicians.
