To celebrate the launch of the 2017 Sydney International Women's Jazz Festival program, we're hosting a free public screening of award-winning documentary The Girls in the Band on Monday October 9 - the night before tickets go on sale!
The Girls in the Band (81 mins) gives a comprehensive history of female jazz instrumentalists from pre-WWII through bop, cool and soul, the 1970s Women’s Jazz Festival, up to contemporary living legends – one of whom (featured in the film) will be performing two nights during the Festival!
There will be some audience giveaways on the night and you will be among the first to see the printed program. The screening takes place at our Festival Hub - Foundry 616.
Sydney International Women's Jazz Festival 2017 takes place November 8 - 18.
