Knox City Sings

Knox Council invites people who love to sing, aged 16 and above, to register their interest in joining a vocal ensemble to perform at Knox Carols on the big stage.

The group will be led by local conductor and composer; Lady Shaula across four fun, musical evenings of rehearsals and with a grand performance at the Knox Carols.

How does this work?

This is a short project-based group singing experience, run over four nights. We will have lots of fun learning some music, singing together in a group, and laughing a lot!

There’s no audition needed – and the group is open to everyone, no matter how much experience you’ve had in singing.

When and where?

Rehearsal workshop sessions will be held at the Knox Community Arts Centre

Thursday 20 November – 7pm to 9pm
Thursday 27 November – 7pm to 9pm
Wednesday 3 December – 7pm to 9pm
Thursday 11 December – 7pm to 9pm  

Performance:
Knox Carols – Wally Tew Reserve, Ferntree Gully VIC 3156
Saturday 13 December – Afternoon rehearsal and evening performance.

We’d love participants to be available for all dates.

What do I need to bring?

Just bring yourself, a water bottle, and a positive attitude. Singing can be daunting, but in groups, it is a safe place to explore your musicianship.

What should I wear?

Just wear comfortable clothing and bring a layer in case you feel cold or warm during the rehearsal.

What does this cost?

There’s no cost to participants; this whole project is funded by the Knox City Council as part of the 2025 Knox Carols.

Who can come?

This project is an opportunity for people who are 16 years and above. It’s designed to be a space for adults of all walks of life to sing together and have fun. There will be ramp access for those who have mobility considerations, and chairs will be provided, so you don’t need to stand the whole time!
