The Friends of the National Arboretum Canberra Seasonal Talk

Raised on royal jelly, and learning the waggle dance as his first language, Eric Davies (aka Eric the bee whisperer) has been living and working with honeybees for over 40 years. He is willing to share his knowledge and experiences with you and has taught more than 200 people how to safety transition from a 'keeper of bees' to a 'beekeeper' in the Canberra region.

Eric will give the audience a glimpse into the fascinating lives of honeybees and introduce you to some of the unusual things they collect to make honey. He will tell the story of the honeybee hives at the National Arboretum and also cover the honeybee rescue service that he offers in the ACT as part of Canberrabees.com

Eric currently operates 150 honeybee hives, of which just a few are located at the National Arboretum Canberra.
