James Greening:

Australia’s leading jazz trombonist, James Greening has been widely praised for his work with seminal ensembles such as Ten Part Invention, Wanderlust, The Catholics, the Umbrellas and the Australian Art Orchestra. One of James‘s major musical influences was friend and mentor, the late Jackie Orszaczky. James performed in a number of Jackie’s groundbreaking bands such as Jump Back Jack, Industrial Accident, The Godmothers, The Orszaczky Budget Orchestra and Hungarian Rapsadists. The CD 'Wayback', includes a performance of a traditional Hungarian folk song, Sir az ut elottem with Jackie Orszaczky on piccolo bass and singing. Also, a longstanding member of the Australian Art Orchestra, projects James has played in Sandy Evan’s Testimony – a tribute to Charlie Parker performed at both Sydney and Melbourne Festivals and Ruby’s Story and Kura Tungar: River Songs and Stories – a collaboration with Indigenous performers, the late Ruby Hunter and Archie Roach. Also with the Australian Art Orchestra, James Greening performed in India and featured on the ARIA nominated recording with the Sruthi Laya Ensemble titled Into the Fire andJosh Roseman’s project at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival in 2011. In addition to the groups mentioned above, he recorded and performed live with the late Bernie McGann, Tim Hopkins, Mike Nock, Chris Cody, Steve Hunter, Monica Trapaga, James Morrison and Vince Jones. James isn't just a contemporary jazz heavy-weight, he's jazz royalty!

Gary Daley:

In hometown Springwood, just west of Sydney, he is the artistic director of the music concert series 'Live at the Village' which has presented leading musicians in a variety of improvised music since late 2009.
