Following an amazing introduction to Australia in 2017, Ireland’s hot contemporary / indie group, The Young Folk return for the release of their newest album in 2018.
With a rash of International tours in 2017 including the USA and Europe the A1 harmonies and musicality of The Young Folk return to envelop Australian audiences in their unmistakable Irish heritage translated by contemporary influences.
Consisting of a creative triangle with Anthony Furey at its apex joined by Paul Butler and Tony McLoughlin who are singer/songwriters of exceptional talent in their own right the trio are joined by musical all rounder, Alex Borwick enabling The Young Folk to fully flex their musical muscle.
Anthony’s cracking set of vocal pipes sit at the helm of The Young Folk, effortlessly guiding the listener through each musical story. Veteran’s of the Irish Festival scene, The Young Folk have built on their homeland success and rate not only with Ireland’s President Michael D. Higgins (as most notable fan) but with a legion of homeland and International music lovers.
‘They are quite simply one of the most promising young bands to come out of Ireland in several decades.’ Simon Redley, Maverick, UK
‘The 11 tracks on First Sign of Morning showcase a band prepared for a much higher level of attention here and overseas.’ Irish Mail on Sunday, Danny McElhinney (4 star **** review)
‘Ireland’s most exciting band in years…The Young Folk are a Dublin band that have become national favourites and also developed a worldwide following in the past couple of years. They brilliantly fuse a traditional Irish sound with their own modern influences and the results are outstanding.’ Irish Music Daily, Nick Kehoe.
