Event Details

Once the most popular of instruments, beloved by Shakespeare, the lute was - and still is - believed to have the power to move the soul, from the darkness of grief to the lightness of joy. Since being rediscovered in recent decades, artists from Dame Emma Kirkby to Sting have drawn on its expressiveness to bring old music to life and even create new songs.

Come enjoy a glass of wine on Sunday 25th March and hear the music of Dowland, Danyel, Caccini and more, performed by local and international artists:
