Welcome from the Mt
~ _ ~
After a great success on the 6th of January ~ our first of a kind festival organised by musicians for musicians has fueled the community with high demands for an immediate follow up. I am proud to announce that this indeed is happening; on a smaller scale but with the same intention to present quality world class music as apart of our growing cultural diversity here in our own community.
We have already a confirmed line up of international and top notch Indian classical musicians such as the Surojato Roy on tabla from Calcatta India and the return of the almighty Taro Terahara on the bansuri flute who took the whole audience with his bansuri solo and incredible performances throughout the night. To mix things up on a more progressive level we have Tarshito's Funky Raga vision that is a full 5 - 6 piece band fusion of indian scales meets raw Funk and Reggae.
Local rising mestro Bart Stenhouse will also bring his Jazz & flamenco flavour into the world of Raga playing with Taro and Surojato as the final closing act; with Shivam Rath and his partner Mico Sundari presenting the sacred mantras of the east to the west; blending Indian Classical music with a more local rainbow spirit; of songs, chants and rocking Raga
(Keep your ears open for any afterparty ~)

The focus: This event is for absolutely creating an intimate and sacred setting of diverse world music in the natural atmosphere in Kohinur Hall; upper main arm Mullumbimby.
We support The heart for Fukushima foundation:
Japan is a great country of world music and shows this through its development in many world cultures far more than most other countries I have been. So having many artists from there we will also focus on a theme of fundraising with the Heart for Fukushima foundation towards helping those directly effected by the ongoing radiation of Fukushima's nuclear power plant.
The intention: To make an amazing world class vibe in this local setting by the national park in Mt Jaruselum. We hope you share our enthusiasm in creating this magical new years event.
Pranams and respect
