AIM Dramatic Arts - PLAYING WITH FIRE: Hamlet & As You Like It

PLAYING WITH FIRE is the AIM Dramatic Arts annual Shakespeare double. The 2019 season will showcase adaptations of Shakespeare's HAMLET (directed by David Fenton) and AS YOU LIKE IT (directed by Peta Downes), which will be performed in repertory by the 2019 Second Year Bachelor of Performance students.

All the world’s a stage

To forget her sadness over her banished father Duke Senior, Rosalind dreams of courtly love with her cousin Celia and catches the eye of the young wrestler Orlando. When all three must flee her uncle’s Court to the magical Forest of Arden where her father lives, Rosalind disguises herself as a boy for her own protection. Using her newfound male identity, she challenges Orlando’s passion for Rosalind and finds herself the victim of her own love game.
