“AN AFTERNOON WITH TIM COPE”

Join us for an uplifting and family-friendly afternoon, and help raise funds to save dogs in need with Off the Chain K9 Rescue Qld. You will get a drink and raffle tickets on entry, and be treated to an amazing lunch. There will be raffles, silent auctions, and presentations. A bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be running, and we will have OTC merchandise available for purchase too, along with guests from some our biggest supporters. Our MC for the event is the amazing Georgia Soutar, whom OTC founder Jess was lucky enough to meet when both girls won Young Citizen of the Year awards in 2015, for their work in their respective charities.

Date: 23rd June 2018. Doors open 11:30am. Lunch from 12:00pm, guest speaker from 1:00pm.

Meet famous adventure-traveler Tim Cope -National Geographic Adventure Honoree 2007, Australian Adventurer of the year 2006 - a 39 year old from Gippsland, Victoria - who is pursuing a life of adventure, writing, and film. Tim, who speaks fluent Russian, and guides in Siberia, and Mongolia, has spent the best part of a decade travelling Russia, Mongolia, and Central Asia by bicycle, row boat, skis, horse, camel and many other means. Most of all Tim enjoys coming to know people in their home environments by traveling in traditional and local ways. His most renowned journey was a three and a half year odyssey from Mongolia to Hungary by horse on the trail of Genghis Khan and in the spirit of the nomads of the steppe. Enjoy a wonderful lunch prepared by local social enterprise group 'Emerge'- helping youth in the Toowoomba community. The food van, catering business and the co-working of the Emerge youth hub space are completely not-for- profit and help provide sustainable income to keep the hub open, and reach out to kids in our community doing it tough.
