One is called Sandeep Totlani, the other Chris Martin. One was born and raised in India, the other is from Brisbane Australia. One trained as a dentist, the other hasn’t seen a dentist in years. One supported one of India’s biggest stand-up comedians, Zakir Khan, on his maiden Australian tour, the other did not… but totally would have if asked. Who is who? Come find out when these two rising stars of Brisbane comedy hit the stage, each with 30 minutes of their best material, in White Chocolate.

This stand-up comedy show is the perfect blend of comedy and culture - It’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom meets Bend It Like Beckham - and guaranteed to be hilarious. Both are comedians and both love cricket… so it’s a match made in Heaven/Indian Heaven.

About The Comedians

Sandeep Totlani is a pizza eating competition winner and a trained dentist from India (because some stereotypes are good). Sandeep discovered stand-up comedy by accident when he watched Russell Peters on YouTube and entered Australia’s prestigious RAW comedy competition. Since then he has performed comedy in 3 languages on some of the biggest stages across Australia and India, alongside the likes of Danny Bhoy, Damien Power, Ivan Aristegueta and Daniel Fernandes just to name a few. His comedy covers everything ranging from topics like racism and obesity to topics concerning the world of cricket, yoga and married at first sight. His funny observations and self-deprecating humour recently landed him the gig of a lifetime - opening for one of India’s biggest stand-up comedians Zakir Khan, on his maiden Australian tour.

Chris Martin is a comedian and a director of Big Fork Theatre, a Brisbane based comedy theatre that recently had a sell-out run at the 2018 Brisbane Comedy Festival. Apart from being a 2017 Raw Comedy state finalist, he’s also studied improv at the renowned iO Theatre in Chicago with some of the best comedic improvisers in the world. Chris has performed in several festivals like the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Brisbane Comedy Festival to name a few. Chris’ combination of surreal and storytelling comedy has made him a rising star in Brisbane comedy and one of Australia’s most promising up and coming stand-up comedians. He would also like to point out that he too has supported well known comedians (probably more than Sandeep okay… just come to the show).
