Twenty years ago, a group of women working across the Hunter's building and construction industry came together with a simple idea.

They wanted a place to connect. A place to share experiences, support one another and navigate the opportunities and challenges of an industry they were passionate about.

From that idea, WIBAS was born.

What started around a single table has grown into a vibrant community that has connected, supported and inspired hundreds of people across our industry. Over the past two decades, WIBAS has fostered meaningful relationships, championed professional development, celebrated achievements and created opportunities for women at every stage of their careers.

Through breakfasts, site visits, panel discussions, mentoring programs, awards and countless conversations, WIBAS has become an enduring part of the Hunter building and construction landscape.

While WIBAS was founded to create opportunities for women, our community today extends much further. We are proud to welcome the many male allies, industry leaders and business owners who attend our events, champion diversity within their organisations and recognise the value that inclusive teams bring to our industry. Together, we are helping shape a stronger, more progressive future for construction across the Hunter.

As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we look back with pride on the legacy created by our founders and the many members, sponsors and supporters who have contributed to WIBAS along the way.

We are also thrilled to welcome Rhiannan Iffland as our special guest for an exclusive Fireside Chat.

Raised in the Hunter and now recognised around the world, Rhiannan is the most decorated cliff diver in history and one of Australia's most accomplished athletes. A 10-time consecutive Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series Champion and five-time World Champion, she has forged a career defined by courage, resilience and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

From local beginnings to global success, Rhiannan's story is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through determination, self-belief and the willingness to take the leap. Her insights on overcoming challenges, embracing change and pursuing excellence promise to inspire both personally and professionally.
