The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is authentic repair.*

Mend In Public Day is an annual day of collective action within Fashion Revolution Week.

The idea is simple: get out into the local community and stitch in protest against disposable fashion.

Amidst busy Saturday shoppers and tourists, we'll repair our torn pockets and broken seams and spark conversations on making Loved Clothes Last.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill, knowledge, or capacity.

-----

Bring your bag of textiles to repair, along with comfy camp chair or picnic blanket.

If you've no needle and thread at home, fear not - there will be additional threads, patching fabric, needles, quick unpicks, pins and clips, and scissors to share.

-----

The Milton Cenotaph park can be accessed by ramp, but unfortunately there is little designated accessibility parking nearby.

Low-mid level traffic noise is expected.

If you have any accessibility questions or requests, please contact the host, we are more than happy to help you attend the event in person.

Sun protection is recommended - though we'll be under the shade of large trees, stray::reflected sunbeams are to be expected.

-----

Virtual attendance is also welcome - tag us in your social media posts (#MendInPublicDay #wearefashionrevolution #treadinglightlyinc #streetstitching #repairwhatyouwear #visiblemending).
